OBJECTIVES
SYMPOSIUM ATTENDEES WILL LEAVE ABLE TO:

Discuss the differences between men and women in presentation, pathophysiology and outcomes of ischemic heart disease.
-
Outline the role of what we eat in the etiology of coronary artery disease and cardiovascular mortality.

Apply recent clinical trial results in the management of ventricular arrhythmias.
-
Describe the utility of biomarkers and imaging in diagnosing cardiovascular disease in the ER.
-
Identify appropriate situations to use extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
-
Recognize advances in ventricular assist devices (VADs) and understand the current state of heart transplantation.
-
Understand new guidelines for dual anti platelet therapy (DAPT) duration, triple antiplatelet (TRIPLE) therapy, and evaluate the application to Afib and other patients, including the role of OAC and NOAC.
